I summoned fire ghouls to help me fight and the added fire damage was a real helper.

Dodging is key to surviving this encounter and you want to stay close enough to Gorewood to attack after it does, but you need to watch out for its ranged attacks as you can get snared and Gorewood will inflict some big damage. Once you approach the large area the battle will begin. Swim down the lake and under the land masses to emerge in a little cove on the opposite side. Proceed onwards and to the bottom of this mini-dungeon and you will come to a lake. Once inside you will find a skeleton key to open the door out front. In this area you will need to climb the outside walls and proceed inside the dungeon. Gorewood can be found underneath the Weeping Crag area and is a little tricky to find.
